Thanks this information is great. I have a 95 740il that I bought about 2 months ago and I noticed about every 2 weeks my low coolant alarm displays. Just recently the thermostat went so my mechanic ran a pressure test, check all the hoses and flushed the radiator and everything was fine. About a week later its telling me low coolant again. So I will check to see if I have a slow leak in my expansion tank especially since I have not been able to visually see any signs of a leak.
