Subject: Post - Log of E39 Nav Trunk Test with Photos

Objectives:
- Power up system
- Verify video, MkIV operation
Steps:
- Disassemble LH trunk upholstery to get better access to Audio
Harness
- Disconnect negative lead to battery
- Remove MID and Radio from Dashboard
- Disconnect white power connector to existing Audio Harness
- Removed Nav Computer / ULF bracket for better access to
amplifier / radio connectors
- Assemble equipment in trunk and connect to New Audio / Nav
Connecting Lead:
- Mk IV Navigation Computer:
- GPS Antenna, burgundy from Nav Connecting Lead, blue from
Audio Harness
- Widescreen:
- Blue and white connectors from new Audio Harness
- New Gen Radio:
- Large black rectangular connector from new Audio Harness
- CD Player:
- Six and three pin connectors from new Audio Harness
- Disconnect amplifier from existing Audio Harness
- Connect new Audio Harness to amplifier
- Ground New Audio Harness
- Connect new Audio Harness to power connector
- Turn on ignition
- Verify the following:
- Video to screen
- Select Menu
- Mk IV power-up
- Flashing red LED
- Select Audio:
- With no speakers or radio antenna it will be difficult to
verify radio performance
- Hit Mode to select CD player
- See if unit will change CD’s
- Select GPS:
- Unit should ask for DVD
- Insert DVD
- Input address to see if unit can locate a destination

See attached photos.

Warning: Do not disconnect power while red LED on Nav Computer
is on / flashing. Damage to Nav computer may result.
