Subject: emergency unlock procedure

The emergency unlock works on the passenger door, not at the drivers door, tell that the clever locksmith.

There are the options you have. You do not need a locksmith.

For the worst case, I tell you a little secret:
The E32 is equipped with a crash alarm system. In case of a crash and the crash alarm module detects this the following will happen:
-door pins will open
-fuel pumps will switch off
-cabin light will switch on
-flash/hazzard lights will switch on

This is to enable the rescue team to enter the car easier.
You can activate the system as following:
lift the car up at the rear side drivers side (left hand drive).
Use a biiiiiig hammer and hammer underneath the car just in the area where the module are located under the rear seat. The crash alarm module is about in the area stashed away in front/underneath the other modules

If you hit strong enough, door pins will open etc.
BUT: there is also the danger that the airbags might inflate.
So this is the last resort.
That system works on European specification cars, not sure if the UD spec is the same.
Let us know how you finally got in.
