If your car was built in 6/97 that makes your car a 1998 740i, not a 97 740i as you stated in your first post. The part number is different then. 61 32 6 901 962 is therefore correct for a build date of 6/97 (model year 1998 car). The first part number I gave you would be for a build date in 1996 up to 3/97 (good for a 1997 740i and some early 98 models). The bad news is your ignition switch is broken but the good news is that your car is really a 1998 model, Congratulations!
