Subject: COLD MOTOR DIES

Rajaie, I have a 2000 328i E46 M52 auto with 74k mi. On cold mornings my motor will run for a few minutes then die. Of course if I get in and drive it does not. When the vehicle was still under warranty I had the dealer check this cold motor problem on 3 different occasions and they kept saying there is no problem and they couldn't get the motor to die on the next morning cold startup. ( they had to be lying)

So i went to an indy shop and they said the same thing, just get in it and drive.

They both said there were no codes or any red flags.

Could this be the exact VANOS problem you are talking about?

Thanks..........
