Subject: Re: Need Help - long time sitting 733i won't start

I've got an '86 735i that I'm having a similar (same?) problem with.
It's been running flawlessly for some 1000 miles now. But (in low fuel condition - almost out od gas) it died as I idled into a parking
spot. Then wouldn't start. I first assumed that it ran out of gas, put gas in and still wouldn't start. I tried ether, and it would run
until ether was burned, then died. Chased the fuel supply, and found
reasonable fuel pressure all the way to the fuel rail. Plugs remain dry - which leads me to the conclusion the fuel is not getting to the
cylinders. I bought a Chiltons for my make/model. But found that it is grossly inaccurate. So I'm left fairly clueless for specific details. Bently makes no manual for this model year, and the dealer was only able to get an official BMW manual he found on some dusty shelf somewhere. Which is fine if I spoke German.
ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you for all your time and consideration.
