Sounds like radiator's been replaced. Check hoses. Top hose should be fairly firm, not too soft. I know that's not terribly technical, but if you had old and new side by side you could tell the differnce.

Nothing like a hose failure to put you on the side of the road miles from home. There are something like 10 hoses on the later 740's.
