That's a good question. The answer is somewhat indefinite because I also upgraded my '97 car with the navigation and stereo electronics from a wrecked 2001 car. My old CD changer wouldn't work with the new amplifier (something about an old I-BUS), and I didn't bother to replace it.

Since there are two digital inputs on the amplifier, I would venture a guess that your current CD changer would continue to work. However, if that's not the case, the SoundGate interface has an additional input for any Pioneer CD changer, so you could always add one of those.

Between the XM system and my iTrip-equipped iPod (the iTrip is a plug-in FM transmitter), I don't miss the CD changer at all.
