This is the hard way to repair it!
Inserting a wire spacer into the motor side of the cable is all that is required.
You need an 8mm (5/15) wrench and a 10mm wrench to remove the cable from the motor side.
Push the cable into the cable housing and thus into the gear box. Insert a 5mm - 9 mm (1/4 - 3/8 inch) spacer made from something like a coat-hanger wire into the motor side of the cable.
Reinstall the cable and motor and you're done.

You can adjust the seat as even as possible while it is still hooked to power before removing it from the car.
