I guess my biggest question is $$$$.

The Local owner is asking $4400.00 car has been for sale for close to a month on Craigslist. Is this too high. Looks like most of the maintanence has been done. But from what I could find most cars are going for less. Is it better to pay $750 - $1500 for a car and try to get away with putting $1-2000 into the car over the next year or two.
Myself, Id rather be trouble free, and not feel like Ive been taken to the cleaners. I will be using the car as a daily driver (between 9-10k/yr) and in the winters in Pittsburgh, it will continue to be garaged.

I have been looking for an E38 2000-2001 for nearly a year. The price is out of my range.


Any other advice good or bad will really be appreciated.
