Subject: Anything is only worth what a buyer will pay. Right now, that appears to be 26K.

TBH, I'm not in the US market. But here, luxury SUV's are selling, if they can even find a buyer, for a minimum of 5K less than what people think is a rock bottom price.

I has this argument recently with a vendor. I looked at a 03 530d estate. He told me it was worth 24K but he was selling it for 17K. He showed a web printout that proved his point. The printout was three days old. So I looked on the web again - in his dealership (his tone had annoyed me).

There are 4 other 530d estates on the market. EVERY one one of them had dropped to 16,999.

So - what is an 02/03 530d estate worth? I don't know. And neither do the vendors until one of them manages to sell. As businesses, I feel a little sorry for them. The Banks just aren't lending/financing more than 5K Euro on cars > 5 yrs old.
