I purchased the cast majority of my replacement parts from Steve Haygood between 2005 and the past April. One of the things I recal hm saying about parts substitutions was that the oil pump from the M5 is the same as the one from other big-six M30 engines. Now that I'm installing it, I see some differences. Has anyone used a new pump and seen that the pressure-regulator has been removed or relocated? MY old pump had a heavy spring-loaded regulator that seems to be absent.

Also, the chain I purchased to replace the old one seems to be missing to minor links to make it fit with the master link the give you. The part number is right, but....

Unfortunately, getting ahold of Steve is next to impossible these days. (I wonder what's up in his neck of the woods to bring his site down and keep him from doing business?)

I ended up using the old chain, but regret it already, since I paid for a brand new IWIS chain to replace it and not have to worry...
