I finally have (I think) every part I need for reassembly of my beloved s38b35. I'll post the pics and then explain exactly what has been done to date and my plans for the future, if anyone cares.

Had the block cleaned and painted...

...and bored/honed...

I had to have the crank nose repaired by a professional that used submerged arc. When I removed the engine in 2005, the crank nut was missing, and the pulleys/dampener wobbled and tore out the keyway and the key was missing.

Here's another shot showing the repair. The green stuff is just a sort of loctite to hold the key in place.

Crank installed with new main bearings and all torqued!

I had the rotating/reciprocating assembly balanced/lighted where applicable. I originally didn't think the balancer lightened the crank, but on closer inspection...

This is one of six of my beautiful custom Wiseco 94mm 10.5:1 370gram forged pistons. So Shiny!

Extra lubrication holes...

...see? Twice as many as OEM.

One of my parts shelves -- this one with bottom end, timing, head and valve cover.

The Head is all wraped up and you can just make out the valve cover on the bottom shelf.

My work laid out for me.

Installed Piston #1. Look how shiny it is!

...Camera two...

Installed Piston #6....

...Camera Two...

I can't say I dislike going downstairs and seeing this!

I'll make a separate post with specs and details...

YAY!
