Subject: The hose I just replaced busted

As recently posted, my car just overheated, and I replaced two hoses. Tonight I drove with a friend for 40 minutes, an ill-fated joy ride, then sat in front of his house idling for 5-10 minutes. The display warned about the coolant temperature, and when I looked, the temperature needle was almost redlining. I shut it off, then 5 minutes later started the car again to make sure the fan was running. It was, and I don't think it kicked into high gear. I ran the car just long enough to ascertain that the fan was on, then cut it off.

Less than a minute later, the upper radiator hose just bought from BavAuto blew at the "T", same place the previous hose blew. I replaced it a week ago. Also, the diagnostic test last week said the engine coolant temperature sensor was bad, and it just came yesterday (I haven't replaced it yet).

So, three questions:

1. Does BavAuto sell crap hoses?

2.Did restarting it over-pressurize the cooling system, causing the hose to bust? If so, does that suggest a clog in the system? Or, does a car that runs fine but idles hot often mean a bad thermostat? But the hose that blew was the upper radiator hose, and it was clearly full and hot, so this confuses me.

3. Could a bad engine coolant temperature sensor have anything to do with this?

Thank you gentlemen. As always, your help is sincerely appreciated.
