Subject: Circle is correct, they are giving you the “official” BMW-supported kit

Circle is quoting you the offical BMW Bluetooth kit for your car. That will work totally fine, with two minor caveats. First, the ULF part number 84.21-6 934 552 they are recommending is junk. If you do the factory kit, make sure to get the newest ULF part number 84.10-9 154 358. The very old -552 part has known issues. Second, that kit is several hundred dollars more expensive than the TCU option.

The TCU saves a great deal of money for two key reasons: 1) The TCU is about $300 less than a ULF, and 2) the TCU does not require the ejecect box and pairing button.

If you decide to go with the ULF solution, I recommend you get a complete kit from Bimmernav.com. First, they will provide the newest ULF module. Second, they will provide a better microphone than the mic in the Circle kit. (BMW released a much improved microphone, but they still put the old mic in the E38 Bluetooth upgrade kit.) Lastly, Bimmernav is way cheaper than Circle for the ULF-based Bluetooth kit.
