Subject: Just spent 7 hours playing with the 528e!!!

Finally got the subframe bushings done Saturday, (What a difference!) along with replacing/refurbishing the E-brake shoes/linkage respectively, and.. oh ya: condemning the body to a quick, quiet sale in early spring. That car is falling apart too fast in the Maine winter and I don't have the resources to repair all that rust! At any rate, it feels good to finally tighten up the rear-end and alleviate the crab-walking - not to mention being able to park on a slope, or in a breeze!

I wish I had been able to keep it away from the salt until I fix the small cancers, but now it's far too gone. The driver's framerail is rusted in a line that passes right through the swaybar mounts. The driver's front lift-point has been improperly used and (until recently) secretly bondo-ed to straightness. Unfortunately... the body is a lost cause, and I think, too: Maine. I'm afraid to take the M5 anywhere until these same cancers are fully taken care of now!

(And, if anyone would like, I could explain how the job went)

'87 528e 204k "is" package (falling apart)
