Subject: Relay for signals?

Hi everyone. I was curious if anyone is having or has had a similar issue. Every since I purchased my '86 735i about 7 years and 120k miles ago. I have never been able to use my right hand turn signal and now my left side is starting to have the same issue. When I flip the signal arm to engage the signal all that I get is a very fast clicking noise and no signal. My flashers work perfectly and I also have the full use of filtering through the OBC display, but I have no signals. I was curious if this sounds like an issue with a fuse, relay or if it may be the entire signal arm assembly. Thanks for the help.
