Over all, I am happy with the colour and shine. However, the thing I am not happy about is the not so smooth finish (due to using a brush). I really don't want to go out and spend money or a siginificant amount of time sanding and reapplying a spray-on polyurethane.

Do you think wet-sanding the finish with a super fine grit paper will do the trick? If so, what grit do you recommend? I have 320 which is pretty fine.

I haven't finished the shifter piece (I had to redo it).
