Subject: 200 528iT Vanos Seals

Rajaie - did the seals last Saturday and I have to say that this is one of the best DIY I have done to date - ever. I appreciate the attention to detail and the completeness of the write up - and the short term analysis of the results are: Increased gas mileage; increased low end torque; no more flat spot in acceleration around 2500 rpm; the new found ability to spin the rears under wet road conditions from a start.

I will make one piece of feedback on the Write-up. For stupid people like me you need to add a line or clarification on the removal of the "Old or Original Seals". When removing - you need to be sure that you remove 2 sets of seals per cylinder. I removed one set and looked at the piston thinking I was done and that the groove was dark due to varnishing or some such. Then when I tried to install the Beisan Rings I over stretched the Teflon Rings and could not use. I found out that a fellow nearby Boardmember Jase007 had a spare set of Beisan rings and got them from him so I could finish my project.

Stupid people do silly things sometimes - so a shout out to Jase007 for his support of the community; as well as a shout out to Rajaie for this ingenious fix. - JT
