Subject: Checked Speed Sensor

Hi,

Still having TRAN PROGRAM error.

What we have done so far

1. Topped off ATF (I know there is still a leak--but don't know where)

2. Don't really get inconsistent display on cluster panel for Gear Selector Switches....but the S/M is a bit sticky when I try switching from "E" to "S"ports (since Day one pretty much)

3. Today my good friend read ~ 1000 Ohms on the speed sensor but when we tried reading off of the transmission control harness we did NOT get any readings. Unfortunately, we did not have long enough wires to do a continuity test.

My friend also tried doing a diagnostic with Carsoft but unable to proceed as the EGS module was not responding.

Instead of throwing parts at it, should I just go to the dealer to have the codes read??? What else can we do?

1989 735iL - M30 Engine, 6cylinder
(November 1988 Production TBA)

RECENT REPAIRS:
-drag links, front calipers, rotors, pads, control arms, subframe bushing
