took the plunge as per DavidC/Pdef/TimG/Edwin. went like a dream.
no bolts stripped(need extras?) gasket popped right off.
15.5 quarts of Maxlife/.5 quart of BG trans conditioner.
quick tip....E38 has a 5HP24 or a 5HP30 trans,you need to take a
phone-cam snapshot of your trans-pan, show it to the parts guy so he'll know which filtran to sell you.....ask me how i know this ;-))
