while in florida, they used a 10-30w, since here in Chicago, 5-30w.
Every 3000 miles.

I asked my mechanic, and there is some debate, that when I had 160,000 miles I had the head redone and new cam. That may have cause some ring damage. I've read that is a possibility, my bmw mechanic doesnt think so since it is only one piston ring that is leaking.

Not sure why...I purposed my maintenance to prevent this very scenario.
