Subject: Strange sci-fi whistling sound in stereo...

I've only done two mods involving electrical. One, I put a DICE iPOD kit to my CD changer, and second I put AE on -- well, and I messed with the LCM at that time to see if I could use "rear fog" power for the AE, which I eventually opted not to do.

The problem is, with CD Changer (ipod DICE kit) selected, but with iPOD paused, I now, SOMETIMES, get strange/variable elecrtonic whistling sounds. Kind of like an old sci-fi show, or an AM radio tuned in where there's no station. It comes and goes. Should be silent with CD paused, like "TAPE" setting sounds with no tape in the player, but instead I sometimes get the whistling. Volume of this sound increases with increase in volume.

Now, if it only happened when the iPod was paused...well, that wouldn't be an issue, but actually hear it when music is on sometimes. I was listening to some music thinking "hmm, I've never noticed that odd whistling track on this tune before" -- because it isn't there. It's in the stereo.

Stereo is stock except for this little plugged in device. Maybe a ground issue?

I can unplug is and see what's what, and I can also swap it (with some effort larger than I'd like if avoidable) with the one from the 5er....

oh, and then there's the jump start I gave someone the other day...that was maybe a bad idea...but, really? what could it do to the stereo, and why would it come and go.
