Hi all --

Long time reader, first time poster (well, second time, check out my LCM/Rear Fog question posted recently in the LOUNGE -- wrong forum, formatting problems, no clue on a signature, the usual noobie mistakes).

Anyway, besides calling attention to what might not get attention otherwise, I thought I'd say hello and THANKS to all of those who've written the articles that have helped me already while I was just an anonymous lurker: davidC, Mr. Wong, magnum, Edwin, Q, the guy with the 7 named Betty (drawing a blank on the userID), Tyrone (the 540i guy, not sure he's in the 7-forums ever).

Also, quick preview of a post I plan to make that hopefully someone will find useful. I recently had what appeared to be a cracked headlight cover that turned out to be just a bad seal (maybe...I've another theory that I'll explore if this recurs). I used taking the headlights out to replace the seal as the excuse I needed to add AE. I wasn't really sure I'd like them, but once I'd installed them I was quite sure. I got the Umnitza Predator Orion v2 (can you say brighter and whiter even than the Xenons themselves? very cool), but they are wired a little differently from the older DDE, and by combining info from several other writeups, and a little offline help, I ended up cataloging a pretty comprehensive list of options and trade-offs before finally doing the wiring. So, I thought I'd pull that info together in a consolidated way (focused just on wiring) -- coming shortly.

So, anyway, um, "Hello" and "Thanks again".
