Hello Aj,

I just did my front struts 2 weekends ago. I too have the upmost respect for a compressed spring. I have had the long piece of allthread bend while doing other cars, and I really hate it when the clips (or ears?) of the cheap spring compressers slip around the coil, especially when the coil is already compressed.

Check out this tool from harbor freight.

Thats what I bought for myself, and boy does it work well. CANT slip around the coil.
