OEM Bimmer Parts

Subject: well it worked......but not the dvd changer

I connected the OEM cable from the radio to the cd changer and it worked out great. Now im happy im getting sound from my cd changer.

Well i have also purchased the alpine dvd changer dha-s690. now i connected the changer with the ai-net cable, then ai-net to m-bus adaptor, then to the soundgate bmw-to-alpine cd changer adaptor. to this adaptor i have the 3-pin power/ibus/ground and the 6-pin cdc cables connected to it. however, the dvd changer does not work. the nav screen has the cd mode selected, it showed CD CHECK, and then it said Disc 1 and just froze. It just says Disc 1 (does not even show Track 1 next to it). I tried resetting the changer, unplugging and plugging back in the changer and no luck. cant even change the disc. I even took the cd out of disc 1 location and it still gets stuck at Disc 1 on the OBC. so this looks like the soundgate adaptor i am using is not compatible with the dvd changer.

i could not find any companies that made adaptors for dvd changers, so i bought this soundgate adaptor which is for mp3 alpine cd changers. does it really make a difference?

has anyone tried connecting a dvd changer to their bimmer? any suggestions? am i doing something wrong?

thanks to all for the help you have given me.
