car for an oil change. My E38 has a place to position the stand to lift up the entire front of the car. Then I can just place the stands on each side. Is there a place on the E46. Or do I have to lift one side at time to place the stands. I don't have a ramp.

Can I place the stand in the area where the red square is on this picture? I assume I have to take the engine over off first. Or am I asking for trouble. Any suggestions would be great.
