Subject: Door bracket rupture fix.

Last week during my attempt to change door seals I discovered my left front door bracket was broken. Fixed it today.....spent 1 hour doing that...quite easy. If your lock or double lock becomes stiff you may suspect of a broken bracket because that's where the lock actuator is attached at. Gotta remove the whole piece if you wanna a clean and nice job.

This golden piece is the part that one has to slide back and forth in order to release/latch door handles


Happen to have some sheets of aluminiun, bent 4 sheets for bigger resistance and cut it to exact shape, drilled 2 holes on that piece and marked the holes on the bracket.....


Final result....opted for rivets instead of bolts...don't ask me why


Since I had it out I cleaned and lubricate the spring mechanism


That's it...looks good doesn't it? hope it stays in place for a long time.



Parts cost: zero
Labor: 1 hour, maybe a bit more...easily DIY.
