Subject: The aux fan with the two temp switches will not usually

come on. It need high engine temp to do that and a working cooling system in the car will keep the fan off unless the A/C is used. With the 80°C thermostat keeping the coolant at 80 or less then the aux fan should never be called on. Our temp gauges are not buffered like the newer cars and they 91°C level is well up on the gauge. I expect the red is around 105 or so. Keep this in mind when you are trying to get the fan to switch on.

Jumping the contacts of the two switches will start the fan at low speed (91°C switch) and high speed (99° switch). If your fan works on the low speed, the ballast resistor which lowers the fan speed is working.
