steptronic manual shifting

I've had the 335i for less than a week. I've messed up on shifting and down shifted a few times by accident. One time at the beginning on the freeway, I shifted to M1 when I was going 68mph and had to get off. Have I now flubbed my transmission? Will this effect performance?
