Subject: We have been looking too....here are my findings and thoughts.

My wife's Sienna Van is the next car to be replaced in our family, and we've looked for the same thing as you - a 6/7 passenger SUV with decent fuel mileage and a usable third row.

My dream would be the Infiniti QX56, but the gas mileage is atrocious.

Others considered and ruled OUT: The Honda Pilot, which is very nice, but honestly, its a bit on the small side. We found the same to be true with the Toyota Highlander, whcih was disappointing, since the Highlander comes in a Hybrid (which my law-partner drives).

We did like the Tahoe Hybrid - a bit expensive in the mid-to-high 5$50k's, and the third row wasnt a full fold flat, but its still in the running.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE SURPRISE? The mid-sized SUV we liked the best was actually................the Saturn Outlook! Very roomy, nice sized engine, decent gas mileage, roomy third row, plenty of options and bling. The only down side was the typical American Car warranty - 3 years/36k miles - and the fact that it was nearly $40k, which I thought was very high for an American made car.

In the long run, we decided to wait another year, see what comes out as far as new technology hybrids and whatnot....

Hope my thoughts help.
