Subject: Should be OK -- max is 127 devices, and BIOS should see ports at boot

It could depend upon your PC make, though, but I believe the USB ports would be live soon after booting (i.e., same as on the motherboard).

Booting from PCI USB might be tricky -- I'd check the specs on the card you plan to get.

If all else fails, buy it from a place that has a decent return policy.
