2001 BMW 728ia Radio Repair-Widescreen Display

I have a 2001 728IA imported to New Zealand from Singapore witht the 16:9 Widescreen display.

i need to get this component serviced as the screen face opens under power to access the cassette deck, but doesn't close under power. The dealer says the unit needs to be replaced at a cost of NZ$10,000.00 which I believe is rubbish.

Is anyone aware of any place I can get this serviced without replacement?

They are giving me the same story on the CD changer in the boot.
