Very little, actually. When I replaced the CPS the car got quicker, but it is more than likely that my seals are also shot.

I know for a fact that when the CPS is faulty, there is no VANOS action whatsoever. The actuators are set permanently at their default positions, and this would explain why my car got back some power.
