Subject: 1986 735i's HVAC

Hello all 735i's drivers:

The dreaded air only out to defroster areas.

Notes: 12DCV Vacuum Pump, LED comes on, buttons work, selector wheels, Water Valve have been cleaned/repaired or replaced. 12VDC Vacuum Pump running and will not stop. I disconnected so I won't have to support BMW foundations:-)

Using the Hand Held Vacuum Pump (HHVP) and hose.
I was able to check the Black Hose(disconnect and insert to HHVP)that connect to the Car 12VDC Vacuum Pump (64 11 13 69 19 5):

Vacuum are good through T Fitting[*Non-Return Valve (64 11 13 63 06 2)to Manifold] and Firewall Black Tit Tip of Water Valve) to T Fitting, Rubber Grommet, Vacuum Storage Tank(8 Black Balls), Green Hose, Green Tit Tip to 12V Solenoid.

Vacuum are good on the two Actuator Flesh Air Flaps. I was able to disconnect the Passenger Actuator Flesh Air Flap's Grey Hose and the Driver's Brown Hose. Using my HHVP to pump, I can see the Black Flap moves into closing. And disconnecting the HHVP's hose, will open the flap.

After removing all those covers(center and driver bottom cover), radio, HVAC panel, OBC, driver seat and passenger seat.

On the driver side I was able to see the DEFROSTER FLAP SERVO(has a Light Blue Hose on one end toward the Control Unit and a White Hose on the side), FOOTWELL SERVO with Dark Blue Hose and barely the RECIRCULATING AIR FLAP SERVO with a Pink Hose. I removed the Blue Hose and placed the HHVP with hose to the DEFROSTER FLAP SERVO and pump my HHVP- no vacuum at all. Removed the HHVP and blow the hose with ease.

1. Does this mean that my DEFROSTER FLAP SERVO is defective?
2. If so, how do you remove it out without taking out the nightmare top console cover?

In back of the radio, OBC and HVAC Button(all removed), on top right of the HVAC Unit sits the *ACTUATOR FLESH AIR FLAP (64 11 13 69 30 9). It has a Yellow Hose on one end and a Orange Hose on the side.
I disconnect the Yellow Hose from the 12V SOLENOID(near right side of ashtray) and place my HHVP and was able to pump and get some vacuum, but will not hold.
Did the same on the Orange Hose but was able to hold pressure.

3. How do you take out ACTUATOR FLESH AIR FLAP without doing steps 2?
4. The part from BMW shows: ACTUATOR FLESH AIR FLAP from Realoel.com BMW E23 735i Automatic Air Condition. But Demet emailed me layout drawing shows VENT FLAP SERVO. Are they the same?
5. How do you check the *Non-Return Valve?

My AFAF that I can see on the left side is riveted on, front end shows Yellow Hose, Orange Hose on the right side and in the back a silver vertical blade. This blade moves into the AFAF once I pumped it down with my HHVP.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
