Subject: Past the 500 mile mark. Bad news

Well actually I have done 1000 miles to be exact. Unfortunately I have not noticed any difference whatsoever. I am actually very surprised that I haven't as I have not read a negative report on this mod so far. Initially I thought I may have done something wrong during the mod, but then If I had done something wrong would my car of have started first time? And would my car run the exact same way as it did before the mod? The mod went smoothly apart from removing the rocker cover, that required alot of effort. I am also experiencing the idle jolts, although not all the time. Seems to come about early morning when the temperature is at its lowest. Just to clarify, my car has never had a new vanos. I have made definate of this with the dealer and have had the car for 40k miles. According to Rajaie, the seals wear out within 20k miles. So either way, I should of had a deteriorated vanos.
I will have to back the fact that my pistons where very loose in the vanos. However they did not move around when the vanos was tilted side to side. The only way I ascertained that the vanos was loose was when I opened the vanos case, the pistons literrally fell out. The new rubber seals where definately a tighter fit, they could fully rotate in the vanos case and still maintain a tight fit.
Why have I not felt the effect of the new seals? Have I done something wrong? I have an m54 engine.
