Agree with most of what you said. FYI, JOAP analysis was not/ is not used just for jets and large engines, as i recall, small engines of all kinds and other machinery was also in the program. Was neat to see the oil analysis show problems before they became problems.

Analysis shows Amsoil with special bypass and air filters can go way more than double, (a friend of mine went 300K on one change). Amsoil documents similar stories independently inspected/ sworn to, if you choose to read them and believe. Seems real and feasible to me. To do it you need long distances, special filters, filters have to get changed and oil topped up. with mostly short driving, less than 30 minutes, fuel dilution will take its toll, and the special filters won't remove that.. If you like the car nice to know its possible to extend its time between overhaul to more than double. Most people will not switch habits, and spend $20 to do the analysis and change the filter before deciding whether to change oil...more convenient to just change the oil.

Looks like eric has a different problem, maybe a bad head job.
