Subject: Another Vanos seals done in UK

Having not done any mechanical work before apart from putting in some extra engine oil, the vanos seal task seemed like a qualification. The only two problems i ran into were the last nut for the valve cover in the back and not knowing that i have to take two seals off in order to out two back.....i must say if you read the istruction properly which offcourse i did'nt, you should not have any problems......

Initial Thoughts

first thing i noticed rite after changing the seals was that the car sounded more beefy and solid with less cheddars...but then all that could be just in my mind as i was hoping for some instant results...i never had the idle problem so this repair was just to improve performance........luckily for me no engine lights came and all went according to plan....i must admit at one point i thought the repair was a waste of time as i didnt see any results.....

After 1100 miles ( City and Highway Combined )

Just come back from scotland.....i am honeslty amazed how good the car feels...it almost sounds and feels like a brand new car...

Benefits i have noticed

When taking off i can feel more low end torgue
Sounds more beefy ( which my wife and friends noticed )
The vanos is less noisy
More even acceleration when taking off
Last but not least the car feels more responsive and faster (almost like a cold air intake )

I also wanna take this oppurtunity to thank Rajaie for his help and going out of the way for me.....It was a pleasure dealing with you...

( if anybody in london area needs little guidence or tools for thier vanos seal repair....drop me a line at Atifrrana@Yahoo.com )

Many thanks....
Atif
