This brings back memories! I had a conforti chip in mine ('85 ECU so it had a socket for it. 1983's were soldered.) Also had some other mods. Had to run premium but at 60mph, mpg was 34 on the highway. This was with luggage, passenger and a set of race tires in the back seat on the way to a Driver's School at Road America (4-mile track for those that know!). You have to drive that slow though Milwaukee. Cops were really vicous back then expecially when they knew the windy city chapter was coming through. Oh, tire with was 225. Can't remember the other specs. Oh, 225/45-16's on 3-piece Compumotive's. Yokohama A008's. Wow, haven't thought of that in awhile! I'm sure it would have been much better with stock sizes. Automatics of that generation also had more parasitic drag than the manuals. Even with all of the mods, my car still slowed down going up the hill out of turn 14 under full throttle! LOL
