Subject: From the pics, I deduce a couple of things...

1st, you may live close to an ocean influenced atmosphere. I've seen salt air oxidation that looks like yours on several occasions. Here's an example of what I mean, before/after.

However, the linear whitish concentration on your hood leads me to believe that the clearcoat may be thinning out due to the car, perhaps, having been taken through those whirling-brush car wash machines many, many times. Those things are bad Ju-Ju for paint!!

Here's what I'd like for you to do. Get a small tube of regular toothpaste, Crest will do, and rub it into a lightly affected area with a foam applicator or cotton towel. Really work it in with maybe a second application. Then wipe dry and let the car sit outside for a few hours. Then go back and see what you have.

There are two outcomes here. You may not see any change, in which case you've got thinning clearcoat and the car does need a repaint on those areas.

The second outcome may be that you see a clear spot where there was once the white haze that appears in your pics. Hopefully this will be the outcome. If so, come back and tell us what you have and we can put you on a path to restoration. Here's an extreme example of salt air oxidation on an E34 black clearcoat. This restoration was completed by one of my customers in Baltimore.

Good Luck!
