OK Midwest dudes, here is the scoop: I would like to know how many would be interested in a Midwest meet at the Indianpolis Motor Speedway on Wednesday May 21st

I know Midweek is not the best time compared to a weekend, but as you read further you will see its an opportunity to drive a lap on the infamous Indy Motor Speedway. They do this every year just prior to the 500 race which will be held the following Sunday.

Please repspond to this post so we can get an approximate E38/BB member headcount.

I don't normally organize such events but at times have been the chair person for the annual bocce tournament for IBM (Italian Business Men's) club that I am part of. For whatever that's worth??

Anyway, we could all meet at or near gate #10 off 30th Street near the Speedway around 11AM - 12 noon and then all drive into the track together on that day. The track is open from 9AM to 6PM and there are many things going on there that day.

So we could hang out there, or head downtown, or drive go carts, whatever. I made need help from Joe C. he said he would show up, and Lawguy said the same. (we don't care all BMWs are welcome)

Admission to drive on the track and to enjoy the events the entire day is $7 per person.

You can bring your own food and beverage including coolers. Parking for those that take the lap is located inside the IMS complex and included in the $7 per person fee.

Here are some approximate driving distances from a variety of US cities:

Springfield, IL - 207 miles
Chicago, IL - 180 miles
St. Louis, MO - 240 miles
Columbus, OH - 170 miles
Cleveland, OH - 315 miles
Dayton, OH - 115 miles
Cincinnati, OH - 108 miles
Madison, WI - 325 miles
Nashville,TN - 280 miles
Louisville, KY - 115 miles
Lexington, KY - 180 miles

AND: San Diego, CA - too friggin far!

So here is a link about the events for the track that day.

So just let me know who is interested...

BTW, professional photos will be taken of your car as you pass the start-finish line!
