I have K&N filter in original bmw box. I will clean MAF sensor and I will let you know. As I said, I cleaned ICV (it was not stuck or very dirty).I hope that it will be as simple as dirty MAF sensor.

P.S. I did not even think I could take apart the VANOS unit by myself. After reading DIY guide, I was confident that I can do it. I'm not a mechanic nor have lots of knowledge or experience fixing cars, but using your diy guide it was very simple task. It was scary to look at the open engine, but thats all. Anyone, who can unscrew few bolts can do this.
