Hi There, I have just replaced my self leveling shock absorbers in my 1989 735il, with standard shock absorbers from a 735i. I have blocked off the output opening of each accumulator sphere with a bolt with the correct thread, and no leaks. Now what I am getting is a strange noise which sounds a bit like a whistling Kettle! but only now and then, and it becomes more noticable the more load is put on the engine. The noise seems to be coming from somewhere around the LHS accumulator sphere, but could be more towards The diff. Could it be the regulating valve or something? If I park on a hill, and power on, the noise comes on, and will sometimes even continue at idle for a while? Very confused and any help much appreciated! regards Richard.
