OK, I've got a hunch that I've figured out what the problem is after looking at the cluster screw the last guys put together. But first here's a pick:

I know it's not the best picture...sorry. This is a check valve (?) I think, the hose runs up under throttle body to one of the hoses attached to the Air Idle sensor/motor. There is a connector (in my hand) that the old ball of wires was missing. It obviously attaches to this check valve. Trouble is the connector is gone (snapped off!). After much digging with the bundle of wire it seems that the previous owner went about re-wiring to by-pass this connection. One of the relays was missing when I got the car...here it is:

You can see that they yanked the two green/yellow stripped wires from the bottom. I found one of them soldered into a larger gauge wire from the old harness. My suspision is that this wire runs from the relay to the check valve, then to fuel pump relay (on pin 87 with the Green/Purple wire...that runs to the fuel pump).

What I need to know now is: am I right that this is a "Check Valve", and if so...what's the part # or a source for it? Any help on this would be great. I'm not sure that this is the cause for the no start, but so far it's the only thing I can come up with. Any other suggestions would be helpful as well.

The one on the car, was just the plastic:
