Subject: Just did another O-ring replacement for a friend

Here's a pic of how the old o-ring had flattened. We changed all the o-rings circled in red and kept the old ones just in case the new ones fail. My 740iL had the o-ring change for over 10,000km now and had gone through fall and winter and is still fine and dry.

billc brought up a good point about o-ring hardness, but unfortunately the heavy machinery hydraulic shop guy went through his o-ring bins to find a match, so no idea but we noticed that the new ones are softer (more bounce) and the old ones were harder but flattened. Also you need to make sure that the o-ring is seated properly or it will leak - don't ask how we know - pain in the but to redo.
