Try unplugging the mass airflow sensor and see if the stalling goes away.

1995 750il 193k+ miles (as of March '08 - still smooth as silk)
1999 540iT 134k+ miles (as of March '08) - sweet car, but gonna be for sale soon due to purchase of the 540i6.
1999 540i 6 speed 125k+ miles - kicks the already cool iT's tail!
1999 Volvo V70 5spd - 200k+ miles (useless aftermarket, crazy dealer parts prices - $270 O2 sensors!!!, but it runs - at least it's a 5 spd)
