Subject: Okay...take this for what its worth from an idiot when it comes to electronics!

The premise: interrupt the contact for the low wattage filament/bulb contact point

Since the front turn indicators (US spec e38s) have a dual filament bulb (low watt/high watt) for the parking lights/turn indicators...and the bulb has two contact points on the bottom of the bulb...as well as the bulb holder...what happens if you interrupt the contact for the low wattage filament/bulb contact point?

If you interrupt the low wattage contact on both the left & right turn indicator...would that affect the resistance (?) in a negative or positive way like as in the LCM not thinking something is wrong...thus reducing the wattage of the turn indicator filament and using its "replacement" light feature?

What would happen if you manipulated the metal contact tab in the bulb holder (pushed it down)...or ground down the low wattage contact point on the bulb so that there was no physical contact...would that work to turn off the parking lights?

Okay, the electrical gurus out there...have at it...am I totally crazy for thinking that this "might" be a possibility? 8-)
