One more thing.

Last weekend I replaced my ATF Fluid and my transmission filter in my Steptronic transmission. I know BMW says "Lifetime" but I do not agree.

When I drained the fluid, the fluid was VERY THIN. A lot thinner than what I am use too in used in ATF. While I have not seen the BMW fluid, I cannot imagine it being this thin....

I am a Amzoil user that that is what went in the tranny. It is ESSO LT71141 spec. that BMW recommends. Now the tranny shifts so smoothly that you cannot feel it.. Very nice.

I don't know if you have a Auto or Manual but this is a worth while preventive maintenance. While I was under the car, I also replaced the differential oil. Now my car is good for another 30-60K miles...
