Sorry. I didn't read the opening paragraph. It's a "basic" E39, so not fancy suspension do-dads. I did have to end up buying new struts, mounts and boots. The local dealer (BMW of Honolulu) found both struts leaking during an alignment check. The car has 181,000 California highway miles, so it's about time. I had to go with Monroe's. The dealer wanted almost $300 ea for Bilsteins from Dinan and the same for the OEM. Everyone else had to special order (cost plus shipping to Hawaii.) I got the new ones from a local shop for $144 each plus tax. Any opinions about using the Monroe's vice other premium (much more expensive) brands?
