Also, mathematically, wouldn't the first, say, thousand miles have the most profound effects, since affecting the average after that would require a lot of consistent, similar driving style. Am I off? In adaptive computer tests, such as the GRE, the first few questions can have enormous effect on total scores . . .

since purchasing in 11/2007 I have
- replaced blown exhaust valve, cylinder head gasket
- timed the engine and Vanos units
- replaced OSV
- replaced fuel filter
- replaced bad coil

1992 325is 195K, owned since 56K.
